Day of Suggestions

Most receptions have events that are standard.  This page is to help you determine what events you would like to add and give suggestions on the songs that are available for these events. This is just a reference of questions answered during our consultation.  All these popular events are covered during our face to face meeting.

Bride and Groom Dance - Usually this is the event that starts the dancing.  We suggest that you custom select this song for your first dance.  Any song is appropriate as this is your wedding.

Father Daughter Dance - The of the bride is introduced and dances with his daughter. Traditional song choices for this dance are: Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle, Daddy's Little Girl by Al Martino, Through the Years by Kenny Rogers and Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler.  Of course any special song that recalls fond memories of your father can be utilized.

Parent Dance - Parents can either dance with their spouse or partner, or with the bride and groom. This event can be expanded to include grandparents, godparents, etc., or as part of a wedding party dance.

Wedding Party Dance - The entire wedding party (this can be anyone involved in the wedding) is invited to the dance floor.

Dedication to the Bride and Groom - Guest can dedicate songs to their bride and groom, such as... Kiss the Bride by Elton John, Makin' Whoopie by Frank Sinatra.

Polkas  -  Love them or hate them but with the right group of people you might find that  'no beer in heaven', 'a beer barrel', 'too fat' or 'chicken'  will ignite the dance floor. (of course we would like to remind you at this time that.. "If you want to hear a song you will and if you don't want to hear a song you won't period !")

Bouquet and Garter - All eligible ladies are invited to the dancefloor. The bride throws her bouquet. Next, the bride sits in a chair while the groom removes her garter. He tosses it to the eligible gentlemen gather on the dance floor. If appropriate, the gentlemen who caught the garter can dance, take a picture etc with the lady who caught the bouquet. This event has many variations.

Conga Line - The crowd makes a train that moves around the room.

Limbo - A limbo pole and great agility is needed for this event. Guests shimmy under a pole that is continually lowered to the ground. The last one not to fall is the winner.

Line Dances - Dancers create a formation on the dance floor and dance in sync with each other and the music.  There are several variations of line dances the more popular ones are: The Hustle, Electric Slide and the Boot Scootin' Boogie.
